Apr. 24th, 2003 11:50 pmNot much homework lately, but I'm actually getting my room and my stuff under control. EVERYONE! is drowning in lurve right now; no, it's not pollen, it's 100% Lurve! Right. Anyway, just running down my list, I have pretty much Stephanie and Ashlyn who are managing to hold their breaths. Ray has abandoned me... :( He's going for Patty... Boo.
So my room is pretty. I got some shelves, and hung my stuff up on my walls, and organized my clothes, and mostly organized my books, and made my bed, and lined all my shoes up in my closet. And I have a table/desk now, even with a chair. The room looks distinctly inhabitable (a change). I need to return stuff to various people and take out trash. And take various books to the used bookstore. So that sounds good... an excuse to visit and buy new ones with the money from the old ones. And like wow.
And Tom got me a Harvey Mudd sweatshirt! It hangs down long, but oh well, it's a college item of clothing. I'm happy--it's a sign that I'm really going, that this is giong to happen. Now if school would just hurry up and finish... And I don't have too much in the way of scholarships to do. Since Mudd just takes them off the amount of the aid package, it's pointless to go for more. Which is just as well. :)
Apparently some people in chem class are almost in awe of any high school student who would be crazy enough to be in an o-chem class. The girl next to me couldn't get over it--one of the guys congratulated me on National Merit stuff, and she asked whether I was in high school, and couldn't believe it. It was sort of weird; I've gotten so used to just doing that as another one of my classes that it doesn't occur to me how uncommon it is to be doing it. I just like it.
So nifty. The paper's actually under control, even doing well. We're planning it out well ahead of time, we've notified the new editors, and senior stories are assigned. The final projects are assigned to editors, and everything seems to be all right. We'll brainstorm maybe during first AP week, and get the issue itself planned out. Ah, yay. No crises. It's so relaxing.
And I'm signed up to go to El Camino summer session, and my registration day's May 12 iirc. And Ray and I will be helping the florist with the wedding flowers and *hopefully* I'll get a job out of it, since he has one now. It woud be fun. And, I hope, would be flexible. It would be a good idea to have a physics lab.
I want to get my hair cut a few inches after the wedding. And dye it brighter red. Yeah... it would be fun. And in a week I get to change my new earrings.
