All is well with my schedule. At least, in terms of time.
No chem lab. I will make it so that there is no chem. I will get to take bio and cs 60! Together! So I can both be on track for a chem major and find out just how much I like computers. And have 1 lab per week.
This gives me 16 units, instead of 17. It's a bit tempting to enroll in a 1-credit art class or something like that. Maybe I'll just take an extra PE class and get in shape. That sounds a lot saner...
Hm. Just looked at the available chem. The only one I have any interest in is Chemistry in Living Systems, by Haushalter. I have the prerequisites, so I could do that. Eh. The only issues would be sanity (if I was doing that on top of everything), what to drop (if it replaced something), and 8 am classes 5 days a week. Of course, it's not a lab class, which makes it about a million times better. I dunno. Someone should probably tell me, "Be normal! Do not overload your freshman year! Take that class in that lovely spot open in your sophomore year!"
But I like to have options open. And I'm at least vaguely interested in math and computers (we'll see how that goes). Which just reminds me that a section of Discrete, with Benjamin, is open too. It ought to be fun since it's his specialty. If CS turns out to be interesting, I'll need that too. So many choices! Yaaah!
I might talk to Asai about what the focus of bio 52 will be. If it's mostly molecular, I'll be happy.
*edit: No. Cancel that. It would be very silly to overload while learning bio and chem together in a senior chem class. There's time for that either next year or senior year. Silly frosh.
This does not rule out taking bio, discrete, and CS if I decide that 19 units is only moderately suicidal [1 more unit than last semester, and only 1 lab]. Though I think bio will be the one to go. I should go talk to someone.
