Apr. 17th, 2004 02:49 pmWell, off to see my mom dance. The style is called kathak, a kind of North Indian classical dance and generally involves stamping footwork with specific arm gestures. It reminds me of flamenco in those respects.
Played a very tame game of blank white cards last night, partly as a function of how much energy we had and partly as a function of who was playing--all frosh, first time trying it. The basic idea of the game is to write/draw things on cards, and play them on yourself or on others by decreeing what they mean. I think this could be fun when everyone gets back for the summer. But I think that an upperclassman or two could have improved the game.
So all my homework gets moved to tomorrow. I'm a bit worried about the paper, especially since the Spanish-language sources take longer to digest. But I'll get the rest of my core stuff done ok. Chem's good this week. I'm pretty amazed that I've kept so much of my Spanish after not speaking at all this year.
I still need a hum for my schedule. I was thinking either classical Greek or flute classes.
My summer plans will be nailed down sometime next week. They're waiting for a funding decision, but if it comes through I could be working on the ID lab curriculum--tons of fun. If not, I'm doing summer math.
The last week has been stressful. Too much work, and I let myself get behind the week/weekend before.
Isaac has been bugging me, so I'll head home as soon as I'm decent and fed.
