Home is amazingly good, wherever that is. Anyway, California's home. I can breathe again (well, ignoring the smog. At least it doesn't feel like I'm being suffocated. And the mosquito bites are fortunately going away. I think I'll learn to make sweet tea myself and resign myself to only having Chikfila in food courts and only go to the South for visits. Not that there's anything wrong with it, exactly, but I've discovered I really like California.

The drop-in party on Sunday went ok. I mostly stayed at the door to greet people so I could be useful and avoid small talk at the same time. It worked. That evening there was one of the usual thunderstorms--a warm rain for once. I stood outside and watched lightning bugs--I don't think I'd seen those for close to 10 years. Really amazing, and I'd like to learn more about them sometime.

My grandparents seem old now. My grandmother's almost completely blind, and my grandfather moves slowly. Meh.

I did not kill, maim, or disfigure my brother on the way home. I did actually read Swift's A Modest Proposal, the one about eating babies. Very interesting and well-written if disturbing.

I have the probstat final to do this afternoon before 5, I think (I need to mail it when I'm done) but otherwise I'm free (sort of. Free from unwanted math.) Turns out linear came out as well as I thought it was going to. So I need to study. A lot.

I'm at Mudd right now so I'll come by and say hi to people who are still around. Maybe make tea or something.
