Brain dump
Jul. 13th, 2004 07:53 pmHousesitting's over now. The cats survived, and the owners are more upset at the cats than at me about the hole in the screen. Taking care of Eric starts not tomorrow but Thursday. 8 am. Joy. Ought to be fun, though, even if I don't think that we'll be going to the beach 2 days in a row. I think I'll try the library, too.
I'm already looking forward to the weekend--actually, have been since the week started. :)
Having been paid, I got myself lemon-scented bath oil. Yay.
I have been assiduously putting off matters like finding a job. My parents suggested trying a temp agency, which sounds like a good idea but is new and therefore scary. I need to find necessary documentation and I should look around online about just how this works. Except I was doing that earlier and it's a bit intimidating. I don't like going and talking to strange people, especially when I'm asking for something. One reason I was happy to not have to interview people anymore.
I went to watch movies with Jamie and ended up getting a warning for parking on the street (where guests are *supposed* to park) past midnight. Because overnight parking there is prohibited and because obviously, no decent upright law-abiding self-respecting person would want to be out visiting past midnight. Obviously. The community her grandparents live in tends to give me the creeps--I don't really like having my license plate number recorded as a prequisite for visiting. It feels intrusive.
Jennifer and Carolyn are back from up north with a cousin in tow. He's sleeping on the couch. He was off seeing his grandma today--a good thing.
Dan having thoughts on religion led to me starting to think too. More later, I think.
My room is a wreck. Piles of stuff--books and clothes that need to be properly unpacked. I'll take care of that this week.
2 Gentlemen of Verona on Saturday! Fun!
I need to describe my "contribution to the Harvey Mudd College community." Just how under-the-radar is the lunch group?
I found cut out pieces for a blouse. I think I'll start sewing it if I get over to Mom's.
Someday I will do useful things. Blah.
