Oct. 2nd, 2004 02:01 pmGlassblowing is fun. Not easy, but fun and somewhat addictive. I'm not terribly good at it but do have some passable attempts at a straight join sitting in the drawer.
I also picked up some minor injuries--a small burn on my fingertip and another on my lip. How? Well, we were supposed to fire-polish the ends eventually (basically, melt off sharp edges) and I thought that I might do that before I put them in my mouth to work the joint. Unfortunately, I forgot how recently I'd done it and now have a blister on my lip. Yes, hot glass looks like cold glass.
Still, it's a lot of fun and a potential timesuck. Unfortunately we have to work with a partner, so I'll have to try to coordinate with Amanda or someone.
And I should actually get things done this afternoon, since I don't think I will this evening. No fun tomorrow, sadly; I really need to study for complex and then take it.
