Yesterday was a good, good day. Spanish was not horrible and everyone else cared less about Don Quijote than I did, so it didn't matter that I was apathetic. Journalism was ok (if you discount the "singing" contest between Glenn and Stephanie... American Pie vs. Oh Running Bear). We're coming out in 2 weeks from this Friday anyway... I need to be writing ideas up. I wish Carolyn would come more often so I could ask her the sports status. So I left early to go get my lab book and copy my stuff into it, since they weren't available at the bookstore. Unfortunately, I didn't finish (though while in line a pair of LotR bookmarks insisted that I buy them). But lab went well; I think I got a decent yield, and I finished about the same time the latest people did, so I wasn't a million minutes later than everyone. Yay, yay, yay. And we worked with a mixture of nitric and sulfuric acid (both concentrated) and yeah, that was sort of cool. Yay. A good lab. And then Aunt Delia and I decided on our jewelry for the wedding and our dress colors (green sort of like that big fuzzy sweater I have). I have to get another French twist comb for her, since we're putting our hair up. And apparently my mom forgot what jewelery we'd decided that she was going to wear so we can make it a surprise.

She's coming late next week! (I think) Soon, anyway.

Then I chatted online, had to go tutor (my tutoree didn't show up), but it was ok; I drafted a response to that idiotic letter. The one giving the board credit for our acadec standing.

Then went back and had an interesting conversation with Glenn. On an article about nerds and later on a short story with a very interesting premise. "The Lottery" by Shirley Jackson.

thoughts on the story; you might want to read the story first )

I hope Fatemeh's ok. She wasn't here yesterday or today. And she never seems ot be home when I call.

And I hope Ray's doing ok today. It's got to be hard to just leave your family like that. He'll be here tonight. We got him the dragon-thingy.

Off to hunt down Schonberg and go explain to him the reasons behind this and discuss the handling of unpredictable people.
